After more than a year of development, the final release of version 3.00 of the media player AIMP has finally been released. AIMP is a free Russian-made lightweight media player with support for the most commonly used music formats. It looks a bit like Winamp and can be adjusted by means of skins. AIMP has an 18-channel equalizer on board and supports plugins. Furthermore, the program can rip CDs, convert music files and edit tags.
Version 3.0 includes, in addition to a new look, a new sound engine, a completely renewed music library and support for ReplayGain. Since the third release candidate, the following changes and improvements have been made:
New:
- Basque localization was added
Changes/updates:
- Localizations were updated
- Player: Radio station name is now set automatically on starting playback, if it has not been set before by the user
- Tag Editor: Track number is no longer stored in the ID3v1, if it value more than 255
Fixed:
- Player – part of the next track sounds in the end of current track, if “shuffle” mode is active
- Player – “AB Repeat” function drops playback position to beginning in some cases
- Tag Editor – buttons in footer panel doesn’t display, if height of the screen less than 600 pixels
- Tag Editor – the table doesn’t update after using tag autofill function
- Plugins – last.fm plugin doesn’t start scrobbling sometimes
- Small bugs and defects
