Download Ad-aware VX2 Cleaner 2.0

Lavasoft has released a new version of its VX2 Cleaner plugin for its anti-spyware scanner Ad-aware SE. VX2 is an annoying piece of spyware that is difficult to remove from the computer. This plugin, which has to be started separately from Ad-aware, should simplify this process. The plugin works with all versions of Ad-aware SE, is free to download to download and ships with the following release notes:

What is VX2?

VX2 is one of the most problematic applications to remove from your computer. While Ad-Aware SE deals with most VX2 variants effectively, there are a few variants that none of today’s available antispyware application can detect or remove.

Until the release of Ad-Aware 2006 we will continue providing protection against threats such as certain VX2 variants through Ad-Aware SE’s add-on functionality. Ad-aware 2006 will tackle threats such as VX2 without the need for add-ons.

The VX2 Cleaner works with all editions of Ad-Aware SE. Installing VX2 Cleaner 2.0

• Close Ad-Aware if it is open.
• Download the vx2cleaner.zip file.
• Extract the files in the archive to your Lavasoft Ad-Aware “Plugins” folder.
• Click “Yes to all” when asked if you want to replace the files.
• Reopen Ad-Aware and click the Add-ons button in the main window.
• Select “VX2 Cleaner” from the list.
• Click the “Run Tool” button in the lower right corner of the window.
• Click “OK” when asked if you want to execute this tool.
