Download Ad-Aware 8.3.3

Lavasoft released version 8.3.3 of Ad-Aware on Thursday. This antispyware program can detect and remove malicious software and suspicious cookies. Since version 8.3.0 the different editions have been adjusted. Previously, the program consisted of the Free, Plus and Pro flavors. The Plus edition came with antivirus software, among other things, and the Pro edition had real-time network security as an extra. As of now there are Free, Pro and the new Total Security. The antivirus part, which was previously part of the Plus edition, is also included in the free version from version 8.3.0 and it is now also possible to schedule tasks. Among other things, the Pro version is said to offer better real-time protection and has the ability to remove rootkits. Finally, Total Security has a lot of extras, including a firewall and spam protection; it can make backups and optimize the PC. The different editions will be published on this page clearly contrasted. This release fixes the following two issues:

Archive Scanning

• A fix for an archive scanning bug causing crashes on some systems.

Window not closing

• A fix for an issue that prevented the Ad-Aware window from closing properly when you shut down the application from the Notification Area (tray) icon.
