Download AbiWord 2.7.2

The AbiSource community has released a new development version of the open source word processor AbiWord. Available for Windows and Linux, the program is capable of opening and editing various document formats, including those from Microsoft Word, OpenOffice.org, Wordperfect, and regular RTF documents. Furthermore, the functionality of Abiword can be extended with plugins and dictionaries extensive. Below are the major changes made in this release:

AbiWord v2.7.2 Released

The AbiWord team joyfully announces AbiWord v2.7.2, the third snapshot of the development that will lead to AbiWord 2.8.

This snapshot allows interested developers, testers and users a sneak preview into the future of AbiWord.

The changes from v2.7.1 to v2.7.2 include, amongst others:

• Add support for uppercase, lowercase, and capitalized character styles (text transforms; no user-interface for it yet)
• Merge the abiword-extras module back into abiword, and add –enable-clipart and –enable-templates build options
• Create a new MSVC2008 build system to make the Windows release
