Download 7-Zip 4.56 beta

A new beta release of 7-Zip was released last Wednesday with version number 4.56. This open source archiving program can handle the compression formats zip, cab, rar, arj, lzh, chm, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, rpm, deb and of course the proprietary 7z. In addition, it is also able to open iso files and nsis installation packages. The changelog only mentions unspecified bug fixes, raising hopes that a stable release should hopefully be expected soon:
