Download 7-Zip 4.46 beta
A new beta release of the archiving program 7-Zip has just been released with version number 4.46. This open source program can handle the compression formats zip, cab, rar, arj, lzh, chm, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, rpm, deb and of course the self-developed 7z. Also, not so long ago, the ability to open ISO files and NSIS installation packages has been added. Since version 4.31, there are separate versions for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:
Changes in this release:
- New fast compression mode for Deflate method in Zip and GZip.
- New “Compress shared files” option in GUI and -ssw switch.
- Some bugs were fixed.
- New localization: Norwegian Nynorsk.
