Download 7-Zip 4.36 beta

Version 4.36 beta of the archive utility 7-Zip has just been released on SourceForge. This open source program can handle the compression formats zip, cab, rar, arj, lzh, chm, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, rpm and deb, but is of course specialized in the self-developed 7z format. According to their own words, this format can achieve a 30 to 50 percent better compression ratio than with zip. Since version 4.31 there are separate versions for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows. The changelog of this release looks like this:
