Download µTorrent Linux 3.0 build 24733 alpha
Visitors to the Meuktracker are undoubtedly familiar with the BitTorrent client µTorrent. It is often also known that there is a client for Mac OS X, but less people know that there is also a client for Linux. Recently version 3.0 build 24733 alpha has been released. The program has been tested with Ubuntu 9.10+, Debian 5+, and Fedora 12+, but will likely work on other distributions as well. Kernel 2.6.13 or later is needed and there is only a 32bit version for now. The list of changes since the previous entry in the Meuktracker looks like this:
Version 3.0 alpha (build 24733):
- Fix: Incorporated bug fixes from generic code
- Change: The usage argument now also reports product version information
- Feature: Added Changes.txt to the archive distributed for this product, so that users would have a list of changes made to parts of code shared with other products
- Fix: Stopped requiring that /etc/fstab not be empty, so that program will run on certain VMs
Version 3.0 alpha (build 24118):
- Fix: merge in many changes from trunk to fix bugs/crashes
Version 3.0 alpha (build 23418):
- Fix: Fixed bug in web UI causing failure to run on Internet Explorer
Version 3.0 alpha (build 23090):
- Fix: Enhanced speculative fix for crash on POSIX platforms occurring when any configurable directories (eg, active, completed, temporary, autoload, request) contain other than 7-bit characters, which should improve the experience of users using Cyrillic characters (the behavior in that case worsened after the previous release because the previous fix was incomplete)
- Fix: crash when choosing to use an active directory without supplying a path to that directory (seen when users attempt to specify a nonexistent directory (possibly by misspelling the desired existing directory) for the active directory via the web UI)
