Snapchat gets ar games with facial expression controls
Snapchat is getting games that work within Lenses. Snap, the parent company behind the chat app, has announced this. Users can play the games, Snappables, with facial expressions that yield scores.
The games can be controlled by touching the screen, moving the phone and facial expressions, Snap said. The games can be found under the section of the app where Lenses can also be found. They are available immediately.
It is also the first Lenses that can work on several phones in close proximity. This makes it possible to play games together on your own phone. For example, there are games where users have to pretend to blow bubbles from chewing gum. Another example is a Lens where the facial expression sends a puppet in a Space Invaders-like game.
Presumably, Snappables will play a role in Snap’s upcoming new glasses. An inspection a few weeks ago indicated that the company wants to present the successor to the Spectacles glasses quickly. According to Wired, that will happen later this week.
