Smart introduces #1 EV with a range of 440 kilometers
The German-Chinese car brand Smart has introduced the #1. That is an electric SUV with rear-wheel drive, an output of 272 hp, a 66 kWh battery and a provisional WLTP range of 440 kilometers. The car will be available to order from the second half of this year.
The #1 has a length of 4.27 meters, is 1.64 meters high and weighs 1,820 kilograms. The wheels are 19″, the wheelbase is 2.75 meters and the EV has a top speed of 180 km/h. The torque is 343Nm. The 66kWh battery of the #1 can be charged with 22kW AC. the EV according to Smart from 10 percent to 80 percent in three hours. Via DC fast charging with 150 kW, the battery of the car can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes. The trunk has a capacity of 273 liters, which can be expanded to 411 liters. The volume of the trunk at the front of the car, better known as the frunk, is 15 liters.
The #1 has a central infotainment system that runs on a 12.8” screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The instrument panel is rendered on a 9.2” screen with the same resolution. There is also a 10” heads-up display. The car’s audio system includes an amplifier and 13 speakers integrated into the car’s interior.
While using the infotainment system, users will be able to call on a virtual Smart avatar that can be controlled via voice control. The car brand has also developed an app that should come out together with the car and allow users to share digital keys with each other. The car can be ordered from Smart from the second half of the year. An entry-level price for the #1 has not yet been announced.
