Slide shows Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 with QLED display and Intel Comet Lake CPU
Some details about an alleged Galaxy Chromebook 2 from Samsung have emerged. The laptop would have a QLED screen and Intel Comet Lake processor. The Galaxy Chromebook 2 should be released in February at a suggested retail price starting at $ 699.
The slide has been published by Twitter user WalkingCat, which more frequently publishes information about unannounced products. Earlier on Wednesday, he posted internal slides with details about the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro earplugs. The information about the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 laptop has not yet been officially confirmed and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt. EvLeaks, another leaker active on Twitter, earlier this week already posted renders of the Galaxy Chromebook 2 and reported a few weeks earlier that such a laptop is on the way.

According to the slide, this is the first Chromebook with a QLED panel. The screen could display 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The Galaxy Chromebook 2 has a screen diagonal of 13.3 “. No resolution is mentioned here, but the current Galaxy Chromebook has a 13.3” amoled display with 4k resolution. The Galaxy Chromebook 2 would also be equipped with an Intel Core i3 processor from the tenth generation.
The laptop would also have a battery life of more than 12 hours, as stated on the slide. The slide also mentions Wi-Fi 6 support, although it says Wi-Fi 6 Gigabit ‘ac’. That doesn’t seem to be true, given that Wi-Fi 6 uses the 802.11ax standard. Elsewhere on the slide the ax standard is mentioned, as well as a maximum theoretical speed of 2.4Gbit / s and support for 2×2-mu-mimo.
The Galaxy Chromebook 2 would be available in February 2021 through Samsung and Best Buy. WalkingCat calls in a single tweet a suggested retail price starting at $ 699. The original Galaxy Chromebook cost $ 999 upon release. It is not clear when Samsung will announce its Galaxy Chromebook 2. On January 14, the company is expected to introduce its Galaxy S21 smartphones.
