Slide shows prices cheaper AMD Ryzen 7000 processors
A slide has appeared online with pricing information about the Ryzen 7 7900, 7700 and 7600. These are cheaper versions of the current Ryzen 7000 processors with a lower tdp and lower maximum clock speed. The processors should be released next year.
The Ryzen 7900 should cost $429, compared to $549 for the 7900X, claims Videocardz. The 7700 and 7600 cost $329 and $229, according to the slide that appears to be from an AMD presentation. The prices are therefore a lot lower than the recommended prices of the X versions at release, but close to the current prices of the X variants. AMD is currently charging $474, $349, and $249 for the 7900X, 7700X, and 7600X, respectively, which is lower than the initial MSRP.
In addition to a lower price, the 7900, 7700 and 7600 also have lower TDPs. Instead of 170 or 105W, the TDP of all three models is 65W. The maximum clock speeds are also lower. The clock speed is 3.7 or 3.8GHz, compared to around 4.5GHz in the X versions. The boost clock speeds are not much different. According to an earlier rumor, the processors should be released on January 10.
