Slack plans to integrate with Microsoft Teams
Collaboration software Slack may eventually be integrated with Microsoft Teams, allowing users of the two software packages to communicate with each other. However, it is not yet known when the functionality should be released.
Slack’s CEO Stewart Butterfield has confirmed in a conversation with an analyst that integration with Microsoft Teams is underway, CNBC reports. The intention is that after integration of the services, users can call each other. By the way, Butterfield did not say when the integration should be completed and how Microsoft will work together for this.
Integrating the two collaboration services to be able to call each other is remarkable, as Slack and Microsoft Teams are competitors. However, because more and more people have to work from home due to the corona crisis, there is also more demand for home-based software.
Incidentally, Slack already works with Microsoft services such as OneDrive, Outlook and SharePoint. However, it uses the APIs made available by Microsoft.
