Slack integrates video calling Microsoft Teams
The business chat app Slack has integrated video calling via Microsoft Teams into its service. Last week, the company said the integration was coming. Teams is a competing service for Slack.
Slack wants to make it easier with the integration to make video calls within the chat app. Users can see, among other things, how long a call has been going on and how many people are in it, according to the product page.
Also, users can set Teams as the default calling app within Slack. The chat app also has its own calling function. Last week, Slack had already mentioned that the integration was coming. The move is striking, because Microsoft has entered into competition with Slack with the Teams service. Many companies use either service for chat communication between employees.
In addition to the Teams integration, users can also set up other services for VoIP with phone numbers. Cisco Jabber, Zoom, RingCentral and DialPad are available as options for this, reports The Verge.
