Slack has a malfunction – update
The instant messaging service Slack, which is used by many companies worldwide, is experiencing connection problems on Thursday. Users complain that they can’t connect to their workspaces.
Slack confirms having problems on Twitter and via the status page. The company says it is investigating the issues “affecting all workspaces.” The outage also affects the company’s apps and APIs. The connectivity issues don’t seem to affect everyone, and according to Slack, some don’t connect at all while others just have slower connectivity.
Many companies now rely on Slack for their mutual chat communication. The company announced in May that it now has 8 million daily active users and 3 million paying customers. Slack started in 2013.
Update, 20.30: The outage is over according to Slack.
