Slack confirms that Twitter/X integration feature is no longer available
Slack has confirmed that the X integration in its chat app is gone. X, previously called Twitter, changed its API terms earlier this year, causing the integration to no longer work and now the feature has been permanently removed from the app.
Twitter/X from Slack
The removal of the X integration took place on October 19, according to a notification from Slack. It company tells The Verge that a ‘small portion of users’ were still using the X integration. With this integration it was possible, for example, to have tweets from an account automatically posted in a channel.
It is still possible to load posts from X into Slack. If admins allow it, it is possible to expand it and view the text and any media of posts. Twitter changed its API terms earlier this year.
