Skywind mod creators let voice actors record all of Morrowind’s lyrics
All texts of NPCs in Skywind, the mod that recreates The Elders Scrolls III: Morrowind in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, will be spoken. In total, more than 100 voice actors are working on recording all the lyrics in the mod.
In a blog post on the site of The Elder Scrolls Renewal Project, one of the team members writes that while some texts are omitted in the mod, that mainly concerns texts that are repeated. Moreover, the modders add texts: NPCs react verbally in the mod when they come across a corpse, and start talking to each other. In The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, only a limited amount of text was recorded. More than 40,000 lines of text have now been prepared for the more than 100 voice actors contributing to the project.

Skywind will be a free mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and will require that game as well as Morrowind and the Bloodmoon and Tribunal expansions. The mod is currently in alpha phase, and should go into open beta in the future, but it’s by no means clear when that will happen. Morrowind came out in 2002 for Windows and the original Xbox, and Skyrim in 2011 for Windows, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The same team is also working on Skyblivion and Morroblivion, but at least they aren’t getting much attention at the moment. as to Skywind. For those interested in contributing to the project, there is the Volunteer Hub.
