Skype now makes screen sharing free
Skype has made group screen sharing, which was previously a paid functionality, free for everyone. The Microsoft daughter announced this in a blog post on Monday.
The screen sharing feature allows Skype users to share their screen with their contacts during a call. For example, they can show photos without having to send them separately first. The functionality is in the most recent versions of Skype for Windows and Mac, Microsoft writes.
The news comes after the company began offering group video calling, previously part of the premium service, for free to everyone in April. At the time, the Microsoft subsidiary wanted to better compete with Google’s Hangouts with the change.
