Ubisoft has released a third update for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege: Skull Rain. The update is free to owners of the game and introduces two new Operators, a new map and several additional gameplay options.

The new map is set in a favela and, according to Ubisoft, is “the most destructive and open environment” in the game. Two so-called BOPE operators, or members of a special police unit of the military police in Rio de Janeiro, are helping to secure the area.

Rainbow Six Siege is also getting new content and gameplay changes with Skull Rain. For example, a system has been added for Ranked Matches where it is possible to give up during a battle. This can be used if the resistance is too fierce. The Match ends and players can proceed directly to the next round.

A new game mode to the Custom Game Mode is Tactical Realism. This means that it is even more important to be careful and be prepared for more contact with the enemy, for example it is not possible to mark an enemy and it is not confirmed whether an opponent has actually been killed. For fast-playing enthusiasts, a new Attachment has been added, the Curved Grip, which allows quick switching between firing from the hip and firing down the barrel.

Only the Favela map update will be available to everyone immediately on August 2. Season Pass owners will get exclusive access to the new BOPE operators until August 9. After that, others can unlock the operators with Fame or R6 credits.

The update is immediately available for all systems that the game runs on, so Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows.
