Skikk releases laptops that users can partly configure with a 4k OLED screen. It is a 15.6″ panel that is probably made by Samsung. The cheapest configuration with GTX 1660 Ti costs 1569 euros.
Skikk has three configurations with the 15.6″ OLED panel on its website. They all have a Core i7-9750H processor, 8GB ram and a 120GB SSD. There are models with a GTX 1660 Ti, RTX 2060 or RTX 2070, for prices of respectively 1569, 1649 and 1899. In all cases, these are configurations without Windows, and users can choose more memory or storage at an additional cost.
The laptops are available within 5 to 8 working days, making Skikk the first manufacturer to supply laptops with the 15.6″ OLED panel in the Benelux. At the beginning of this year, we saw laptops from different brands at the CES fair. , all of which were equipped with a 4k OLED panel from Samsung. As far as we know, there are no other manufacturers that make such a panel in this size. Although Dell, Razer, HP and Lenovo previously announced laptops with an OLED screen, which are not for sale yet.
Skikk laptops are so-called barebones, which use a chassis on which different brands stick their names. The hardware that the manufacturer uses mostly comes from Taiwanese Clevo. For example, Medion also makes game laptops based on Clevo barbones; It is therefore possible that OLED laptops from other brands will also appear soon.
Update: BTO now also supplies barebones with an OLED screen. The additional cost compared to a 1080p screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz is 200 euros at that company.
