Sitecom has announced that the software for its WiFi cameras will no longer work from Wednesday. This has to do with the bankruptcy of the software supplier. There are four cameras.

Sitecom reports in a message on its website that it concerns the cameras WLC-1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000. These are better known as the Mini, Twist, Dome and Outdoor respectively in the so-called Wi-Fi Home Cam line. The company says the cameras and associated MyCam apps will “definitely stop working as of January 31.” The app is therefore no longer available in the Android and iOS app stores.

Furthermore, Sitecom states, “For reasons beyond our control, the third-party company that provided our WiFi Home Cams software platform has gone out of business.” Customers who still have the original sales receipt and who have purchased the camera within the last two years can “make a warranty claim at the point of sale.” According to Sitecom, if the camera has been purchased before, there is a scheme that customers can use.

Sitecom was not immediately available for comment. The two most recent cameras, the Outdoor and the Dome variants, were announced by Sitecom in the summer of 2016.
