Signify puts candlelight effect in Hue app and introduces new Hue outdoor lamps

Signify will add candlelight and fireplace effects to the Philips Hue app in the first quarter of this year. The effects work with existing lamps. The manufacturer also introduces two new Philips Hue outdoor lamps.

Signify calls the effects Candle and Fireplace. According to the manufacturer, these mimic the soft glow of natural candlelight and ‘a cozy fireplace’. The effects will work on all Philips Hue bulbs that are both Zigbee and Bluetooth compatible. Users will be able to see if their lamps are compatible once the effects are available in the app.

In addition to the effects, Signify introduces two new Philips Hue outdoor lamps. A wall lantern with a vintage-style filament lamp appears. This Inara lamp has dimmable warm white light and has a suggested retail price of 100 euros.

Signify also presents the Philips Hue Calla. This is a 25 cm high pedestal lamp for outdoor use, finished with stainless steel. According to the manufacturer, the lamp is intended to illuminate a garden path, for example. The Calla lamp can display white and colored light and has a suggested retail price of 140 euros. The new outdoor lamps will be available from 8 February.
