Signify makes Philips Hue Sync available for linking home lighting to PC

Signify, as Philips Lighting is called today, has made Philips Hue Sync available for Windows 10 and macOS. The software allows users to synchronize home lighting with games, video and music.

Philips Hue Sync ensures that the colors and intensity of Hue lamps adapt to the display of the PC or Mac. The software analyzes the image and uses algorithms to ensure that the lighting adjusts in real time. The software also works with audio: the analysis focuses on the rhythm and the type of song.

The interface of the software allows users to choose whether to synchronize the lighting with games, music or video. In addition, the brightness can be adjusted with buttons for subtle, medium, high or intense. Users can also choose a color palette for music.

Signify announced the software at CES in January, then under the company name Philips Lighting. The Philips Hue Sync software is free to download.
