Signal adds Stories to beta

Signal adds stories to the app. Just like on WhatsApp, users can share images, videos and texts that automatically disappear after 24 hours. Stories can be shared in individual conversations or in groups.

The feature is currently in beta. signal writes that only other beta users can see the stories. on reddit users write that the feature is opt-out on Android, but opt-in on iOS.

Story creators can choose who they want to show it to. This can be all contacts, but also certain selections or only certain groups. When a story is shared in a group, any participant in it can see and comment on the post.

Signal already announced such a feature this summer, but is only now releasing it for the first time. The makers write that users can always disable the function. In that case, they will no longer see stories from other users.
