Bose is working on a successor to its QC35 headphones with active noise cancellation. The QuietComfort 45 can be seen in documents from the American certification body FCC. It is not yet clear which technical innovations the headphones will receive.

The photos show a white variant of the headphones and the FCC documents also show the product name Bose QuietComfort 45. This makes it clear that it is a successor to the five-year-old QuietComfort 35 headset. WinFuture discovered the publication of the documents.

The design of the QC45 headset resembles that of its predecessors, with a foldable design and ear cups covered in leatherette. New is the USB-C connection; the predecessors were equipped with a Micro-USB connection.

The Bose QuietComfort 35 was released in 2016. A year later, the QC35 II was announced, a variant with Google Assistant integration. That model was otherwise identical to the predecessor. The QC35 II currently costs less than 200 euros. At release, both QC35 models had a suggested retail price of 380 euros.

In recent years, Bose has faced increasing competition in the noise-canceling headset market. Sony has been successful with its 1000XM models and Apple has also launched a competitor with its AirPods Max. The QC35 II is still high in the list of popular headphones in the Pricewatch.
