Sharp shows Aquos R6 smartphone with 1″ camera sensor and 240Hz screen with VRR

Sharp has presented the Aquos R6 in Japan, a smartphone that has a 1″ camera sensor and a Leica f/1.8 lens. The screen has a variable refresh rate up to 240Hz. The smartphone should be available in Japan in mid-June, a price will be awarded. the company is not yet known.

The 1″ camera sensor is also the only camera sensor on the back of the smartphone. It is the largest camera sensor currently available on a smartphone and has a resolution of 20 megapixels. Sharp says it has collaborated with Leica on this camera. the camera sensor there is a time-of-flight sensor and a flash.On the front is a single 13-megapixel sensor in a camera hole in the center of the screen.

The smartphone also has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, 12GB Lpddr5 memory and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. This storage can be expanded with a microSDXC card of up to 1TB. The igzo-oled screen is 6.6″ in size and has a resolution of 2730×1260 pixels. This screen has a maximum brightness of 2000cd/m2, supports HDR and has a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 240Hz.

The Aquos R6 is 74x162x9.5mm in size, has a 5000mAh battery and has a Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the screen. The smartphone is also water and dust resistant according to the IPX5, IPX8 and IP6X standards, has a USB Type-C connection, a 3.5mm port and supports WiFi 6. The Sharp Aquos R6 comes with Android 11.
