Several web services including Slack suffer from AWS outage
Amazon Web Services is experiencing an outage that prevents several services from working properly. Slack and the Epic Game Store, among others, are poorly accessible, as are other games, services and IoT services.
DownDetector shows how various apps such as Life360, Grindr and Imgur are affected by the malfunction. Epic Games and Slack also seem to be difficult to work with. On Twitter says epic that users cannot log in and access their library. With Slack, there seem to be problems with specific functions such as uploading images or forwarding emails. The company says it is working on a solution.
The outage appears to be in AWS, which is experiencing a failure in an EC2 cluster. That problem is in a us-east-1 cluster. The server page states that all European services should work. It’s the third time in a short time that AWS has experienced an outage. That also happened in early December, when users were unable to use many games for about two hours. Even then, the problem appeared to be in api-error-rates in us-east-1, but it’s unknown if the two failures are related.
