At least six former employees of Google Stadia and the Stadia Games & Entertainment studios have joined Haven Studios, Jade Raymond’s new studio. Jade Raymond himself was previously the head of a Stadia studio at Google.

Six different former Stadia employees indicate on LinkedIn that they now work at Haven Studios, it was noted in a ResetEra thread. This includes five former employees of Stadia Games & Entertainment studios, who will take on similar positions at the new studio. Sebastien Puel, the former general manager of Stadia, also joins Haven Studios as a co-founder.

Google announced in February that the company would stop developing its own games for its Stadia platform. Google will continue with Stadia, but the service must in the future function purely as a platform on which other publishers and developers can release their games. The tech giant closed two Stadia Games & Entertainment studios, where Google employees worked on exclusive Stadia games.

Google would offer new features to most employees of these studios, but several employees have recently left the tech company, including Ubisoft veteran Jade Raymond. She was the CEO of Stadia Games & Entertainment studio in Montreal, and immediately announced in February that she was leaving Google. Earlier this week, John Justice, former vice president and head of product at Stadia, also left the company. It is not yet known where he will work in the future.

Raymond announced in March that she has founded a new studio called Haven Studios. This independent studio is backed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, and is said to be currently working on a new PlayStation game. Raymond stated in March that she would bring together “many of the talented game developers” she has worked with before at Haven Studios, although she didn’t name specific people at the time. So it’s no surprise that several Stadia employees are joining Raymond’s new studio. There are no concrete details yet about the project that Haven Studios is working on.
