Service for chatting with strangers Omegle has stopped

Omegle, a website for chatting with strangers, is closing down. The service existed for fourteen years.

The founder, Leif K-Brooks, announced the discontinuation of the service on the homepage of Omegle. The service will stop because it can no longer be maintained ‘financially and psychologically’. The founder feels attacked by a small group of users who wanted the site to stop or whose demands were too high to continue. “To be honest, I don’t want to have a heart attack.” Omegle offered a service to chat with strangers via text or video.
