Sega is considering making more games based on the Wii game MadWorld. Despite the sweet image of the Wii, the violent game would already sell so well that one or more sequels should be considered, according to the publisher.

“MadWorld’s first numbers are encouraging. If it catches on, we’ll definitely want to turn this game into a franchise,” said Sega of America vice president Sean Ratcliffe in an interview against Venturegames on Monday. “It’s a unique game that has different elements that push the boundaries of what is permissible. And it’s just a lot of fun,” said de Ratcliffe, who left open the exact criteria for making the game a franchise.

MadWorld was released exclusively for the Nintendo Wii last month and is by far the most violent game released for that console to date. The action is mainly shown in black and white; only blood has a deep red color, which further emphasizes the ‘mature’ nature of the game. Furthermore, the game relies heavily on the humor of anti-hero Jack and the commentators.
