Sega Announces Total War: Rome II Emperor Edition

Japanese publisher Sega has announced Total War: Rome II Emperor Edition. The new version of the strategy game released in 2013 bundles all free content released so far and adds a new campaign to the game.

New in the Emperor Edition of Total War: Rome II is the campaign called Imperator Augustus. In this campaign, which according to The Creative Assembly will add “hundreds of hours” of gameplay to Rome II, gamers will get involved in the battle between the later Emperor Augustus and his rivals Mark Antony and Lepidus for supremacy, Eurogamer reports. Augustus, then known as Octavian, finally decided that battle when his armies defeated Mark Antony’s at sea at the battle of Actium.

In addition to a new campaign, new environments and a bundle of previously released updates, the Emperor Edition also adds a new playable people to the game, the Armenians. In addition, the development studio has made various adjustments to the functioning of the political system in the game, among other things, and the graphics in both the campaign map and the battles have also been overhauled.

The Emperor Edition will be available sometime in September. The price of the new package has not yet been announced. Gamers who already own Total War: Rome II do not have to pay for the new content; they will be able to download the expansion for free once the Emperor Edition is available.
