Sega and Tencent not at E3, entire fair may be canceled
Sega and Tencent are not at the E3 games fair, IGN reports. Moreover, there are rumors that the entire fair would not take place because all the major companies are missing. Ubisoft and the console makers, among others, already said they would not be at E3.
Sega isn’t at E3 at all, Tencent says Level Infinite won’t be there, writes IGN. Level Infinite will be at Play Days, an event that took place simultaneously with the final days of E3 last year and will return this year. Ubisoft said it would not be at E3 this week. Ubisoft said at the end of February against GamesIndustry.biz to participate in E3.
In the meantime, IGN has heard rumors that the entire fair will not take place. Due to the many cancellations, companies are looking at each other to see whether large and relevant parties will still be present. The 2023 edition of E3 is the first physical edition of the fair since 2019. Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are not present this year, other major game companies have not yet confirmed their presence. This year the gaming fair is from June 13 to 16. The organization behind the fair said at the beginning of March according to VGC that unannounced AAA companies will be present at E3.
