Search engine Google gets generative AI

Google has announced major changes to its search engine. At the top of the search engine, some searches show a ‘Generative AI’ snippet with a generated result that should answer the question.

The search engine gets the big snippet with generative AI below sponsored results or at the top. In addition, there will be a way to chat with the search engine for follow-up questions based on the result. The snippet can also be made larger to see more information.

It is unknown when Google will and will not show the snippet. A trial version will be available to users in the United States in the coming weeks Labs, the new name for a collection of Google beta products.
