Seagate releases 2TB m2 NVME SSD
Seagate has announced a 2TB version of the Nytro XM1440, an M2 SSD for enterprise applications. In addition, an add-in card appears with the same controller as the XM1440, but with less memory.
A 2TB variant of the XF1440 line of 2.5″ u2 SSDs already existed, but Seagate has now expanded the XM1440 line with a model with that storage capacity. The SSDs have a Marvell 88SS1093 controller and the mlc nand. Memory comes from Micron. The 2TB SSD will be available in November this year. No information has yet been released about the price.
Seagate is immediately making the Nytro XP7102 add-in card available to enterprises that do not yet have the m2 interface. This pci-e card also features the Marvell 88SS1093 controller and Micron memory, but only comes with 800GB and 1.6TB memory.
The Nytro line for enterprises consists of full-capacity variants and models optimized for endurance, but with less capacity due to overprovisioning.
