Seagate Introduces Nytro XF1230 SSD with SATA Interface

Seagate has announced the Nytro XF1230. With the new SSD series, the manufacturer focuses on use in web servers and for analysis applications. The SATA600 interface must ensure compatibility.

Seagate claims that the random read performance is 98,000 iops, making the SSD suitable for enterprise environments where read performance is important, such as for operational databases, data analysis and web servers. The manufacturer also advertises the low consumption: the Nytro XF1230 consumes a maximum of 4.8W during use.

The new Nytro line will be available in 240GB, 480GB, 960GB and 1.92TB variants. The housings are built around EMLC memory and housed in an average 2.5″ housing with a SATA600 interface. According to the manufacturer, the sequential read and write speeds are respectively 560MB/s and a maximum of 430MB/s.

The SSDs will be available next month, but Seagate does not mention prices yet.
