Seagate Introduces External One Touch SSDs With Up To 2TB Storage
Seagate has announced the new series of external One Touch SSDs with write and read speeds of up to 1030MB/s and up to 2TB of storage capacity. The SSD should be released in the next month and the 2TB version will cost $310.
The small SSD measures 5 by 7 centimeters, is 10.6 mm thick and weighs 74 grams. Three different versions are available. The OneTouch SSDs have a maximum write and read speed of up to 1030MB/s. Seagate doesn’t specify the speeds of the different models, but anyway the new versions are faster than the previous One Touch SSDs, which didn’t go beyond 400MB/s. In addition, the new series includes a 2TB version, in addition to the 500GB and 1TB models. The SSD has support for USB 3.2 Gen 2 via USB-C.
Seagate promises that the SSD can withstand drops from a height of two meters. The housing of the SSD is made of aluminum and has a soft fabric on the sides. Available in black, silver, or blue, the SSD comes standard with Seagate Toolkit, a desktop synchronization and backup application, and Rescue Data Recovery Services, a lost data recovery service.
In addition to Windows and macOS, the SSDs are also suitable for use on Android devices with the Seagate Android app. The One Touch SSD should be on the market this month. Euro prices have not yet been published, but the SSDs will have a suggested retail price of $95 for the 500GB version, $197 for the 1TB version and $310 for the 2TB version.
