Seagate comes with a portable 2.5″ hard drive of 4TB – update

Seagate has announced the Backup Plus Portable, a portable hard drive with a storage capacity of 4TB and a USB 3.0 interface. In this series, Seagate has until now had copies with up to 2TB.

The Backup Plus Portable is 20.5mm thick. This 2.5″ model should be on the market in August with a suggested retail price of 199 euros. Until now, Seagate has not gone further than offering a 2TB model in the Portable Plus series.

Seagate has also signed a deal with Microsoft that will allow it to offer 200GB of cloud storage via OneDrive. The included subscription to this service is valid for two years. Through the Seagate Dashboard software, backups can be automatically saved to services such as OneDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox.
