Seagate Announces IronWolf SSDs for NAS Systems
Seagate announces the IronWolf 510 series, consisting of m2 NVME SSDs primarily intended for NAS systems. The maximum storage capacity of the Seagate IronWolf 510 is 1.92 terabytes.
The IronWolf 510 series consists of SSDs with a PCI-E 3.0 x4 interface with NVME 1.3 in an m2 2280 form factor. The series includes models with capacities of 240GB, 480GB, 960GB and 1.92TB. The ssds are made up of tlc flash memory and should distinguish themselves with their endurance, i.e. long operation when used.
For example, Seagate advertises with a total bytes written of 3500 written terabytes for the IronWolf 510 of 1.92TB. The 960GB version of the m2-ssd has an endurance of 1750 terabytes written. The SSDs are “coming soon,” Seagate said. For now, the company only reports dollar prices.
