Scythe Introduces Kotetsu Mark II Processor Cooler With Asymmetrical Design
Japanese cooler manufacturer Scythe has introduced the Kotetsu Mark II processor cooler. In terms of design, the processor cooler is largely the same as its predecessor, but an important change is the asymmetrical design.
The heatsink has been moved to the side and back, so that, according to the manufacturer, there is more room for video cards with large external coolers and DDR modules with large heat sinks. Furthermore, Scythe states that the Kotetsu Mark II significantly outperforms the previous edition due to an improved manufacturing process.
Visual changes have also been made, such as a top that appears to be made of aluminum. The cooler has a copper baseplate and four nickel-plated copper heatpipes to prevent corrosion.
The Kotetsu Mark II comes with a Scythe Kaze Flex 120 PWM fan, which runs at a speed of a minimum of 300 to a maximum of 1200 rpm. This should lead to an air displacement of 16.6 to a maximum of 51.17 cfm. The fan is fitted with rubbers in the corners to prevent vibrations. The fan should last 120,000 hours and has a maximum noise production of 24.9dBa.
The processor cooler is 154 mm high and weighs 645 grams and will be available for a suggested retail price of EUR 34.95.
