Screenshots show some new interface designs Windows 10
Screenshots that have surfaced on the web show some new design elements that Microsoft plans to bring to Windows 10 with a modest update later this year. Among other things, semi-transparent windows return, similar to Windows 7’s Aero Glass theme.
The screenshots are published by MSPoweruser and represent the changes Microsoft is working on under the name Project Neon. This project would be about animation, simplicity and consistency. Part of the project is the Acrylic design element, which, like Windows 7’s Aero Glass, shows semi-transparent window areas within Windows. The blurry translucent view comes to the backgrounds of open windows and to sidebars, among other things. An example of the display can already be seen with the Groove Music app of the Insider Preview of Windows 10.
In addition, Microsoft would experiment with a subtly different color of the background at the mouse. This would be intended, among other things, for more natural interaction in combination with the HoloLens. The first changes to some Microsoft apps will probably only come with the Redstone 3 update of Windows 10, and a lot could change in the meantime, MSPoweruser warns. This would allow Microsoft to lay the groundwork for Neon, after which third-party programs could follow the design guidelines. Redstone 3 will be released in 2017 after Redstone 2, or the Creators Update. It is on the agenda for April.
