Screenshots of possible new look of Google Play are coming online

Images have appeared from Google Play with a new look. Probably the new interface is part of Google’s new philosophy on design called Material. The new appearance is characterized by larger images and a lower information density.

The images in question have come into the hands of Android Police, who are often the first to report about changes to Google’s download service. The pictures show a presumably new design from Play that will probably see the light of day sometime in the near future. Based on the images, Google is making more use of large images and has reduced the amount of different elements on the content download pages.

In addition to a new desktop version, Google is also giving the Android version of Play a new lick of paint. However, it is not yet clear when the new interface will be rolled out. That may not be until the release of Android L in the fall.

Google’s new interface for Play matches the plans it presented earlier at its developer meeting I/O. Then the internet giant announced that it wanted to provide all its interfaces with the so-called Material Design. This design language is characterized by simple interface elements and comes to all Google sites. Material Design will also be used for future versions of Android and Chrome OS.
