Screenshots of Android 5.0 for HTC One M8 pop up
Images have surfaced showing the suspected interface of Android 5.0 for the HTC One M8. Despite the new Android version, the manufacturer continues to use version 6.0 of its own Sense interface.
The images are published by the person behind the Twitter account LlabTooFeR, who is known to have sources within the smartphone industry. According to the developer, the pictures show screenshots of the Sense 6.0 interface that HTC puts over Android 5.0. Among other things, it can be seen that HTC is adding support for notifications on the lockscreen. The overview of recently opened applications has also been adjusted.
Due to the leaking of the screenshots, it is likely that the software update that Android 5.0 should bring to the One M8 is at an advanced stage. However, it is still unclear when this will be sent to users. Some time ago, HTC already indicated that it would come with an update for recent Android smartphones.
Incidentally, images came out of the successor to the Sense 6.0 skin last month. Sense 7 is based on Android 5.0, but if the information from LlabTooFer is correct, the new skin will not yet be available when the new Android version for the One M8 is introduced.
