Screenshots early version iOS 8 appear online
Screenshots have been posted online showing iOS 8, a still unannounced version of Apple’s mobile OS. Apple seems to want to add new apps, including the rumored Healthbook. The screenshots probably show an early version of iOS 8.
The images in question were posted online by a user on the Chinese social network Weibo. According to 9to5Mac, who claims to have several sources, the images are real. The screenshots show that Apple has changed little to the interface compared to iOS 7. However, a number of new apps are available, including the health-oriented Healthbook. TextEdit and Preview are also available, which can be used to open documents and images. Unlike the OS X versions, there are no editing options available, claims 9to5Mac. The apps should be out sometime later this year, likely with the release of iOS 8.
In addition, 9to5Mac states that Apple wants to focus more on iCloud in the future. This gives developers more tools to create applications that are connected to Apple’s cloud service. Apple is also said to be working on a new version of the maps application, which can be used to plan routes using public transport, among other things.
The development of iOS 8 is expected to take months. As a result, it is not yet clear whether the interface of iOS 8 will be further addressed. It is likely that more changes will come to light in the near future.
Earlier there were rumors about larger iPhone models that Apple would be working on. These would be models with a 4.7″ and 5.7″ screen, significantly larger than the 4″ of the recent models. The housing of the as yet unannounced iPhones would be inspired by that of the current iPhone 5c and the iPod Nano.
