Screenshot showing ‘One Outlook’ app for Windows 10
A screenshot has appeared of the app for Windows 10 that should replace Mail and Calendar. Other screenshots confirm the name One Outlook and codename Monarch. On Monday, a rumor came out about the app and a web app.
Logging into the app is only possible with an internal account, writes The Verge. The site was able to open the app, but was unable to use it. The site also links to the web app, but that is no longer available at the time of writing. A twitterer shows screenshots from the app’s download page.
According to the download page, the app is far from finished; the version is for ‘good dog fooders’ and users will still need to open Outlook Desktop or OWA for some functions, the instructions say. One Outlook should work for Intel and ARM processors, and a macOS version is also coming.
On Monday, a rumor came out about One Outlook. A preview of Monarch should be available at the end of this year and in 2022 the Mail and Calendar apps of Windows 10 should be replaced by the universal web app.
Monarch should also replace Outlook applications for Windows and Mac, at a later date. The plans would be the ultimate goal of Microsoft’s “One Outlook” vision, which the company announced last September during its virtual Ignite conference.
