Publisher Annapurna Interactive has shown the first gameplay footage of sci-fi cat game Stray. It has also been announced that the game will be released in early 2022. That was earlier at the end of this year. Players take on the role of a cat in the game.

The gameplay video shows the cat exploring the game world, solving puzzles and battling enemies. Swann Martin-Raget, game producer at BlueTwelve Studio, provides an explanation. The cat receives help in the game from a drone, B-12, which takes place in a backpack.

Stray is set in a fallen city inspired by Kowloon Walled City. That was a very densely populated area in Hong Kong. Although there are no humans present in the city, it is populated with humanoid robots and other futuristic creatures.

Stray will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5 in early 2022. Last year in June, the game was first shown by Sony and then a release at the end of 2021 was still being discussed. Developer BlueTwelve Studio was founded in 2016 to make the game. The French studio uses Unreal Engine 4 for that. The PC version is coming to Steam.
