The dystopian platform and puzzle game Stray is getting a macOS version. A price or release date has not yet been announced. The game was released last year for the PlayStation 4 and 5, and on Windows. The Mac version will only work with M1 or M2 sockets, not Intel processors.

The game will use the Metal 3 API, reports AppleInsider. This API allows developers to create games with better graphics performance without sacrificing too much battery life. The macOS ports of Resident Evil Village and No Man’s Sky use this API. These ports were released in October last year and June 1, 2023 respectively.

Stray is set in a fallen city with humanoid robots and other futuristic creatures. BlueTwelve Studio is the developer and Annapurna Interactive is the publisher. In the game, the player is a cat who must escape the city to return home.
