SanDisk’s first 1TB micro SD card goes on sale
Western Digital has started selling its micro-SD card with a capacity of 1TB. The company announced the ticket in February. It is the first time that a micro SD card with this capacity is available.
Western Digital has put it in its own web store, Techradar reports. In addition, online store Amazon has started selling the ticket. The 1TB version costs 522 euros at the German Amazon and is available in the Benelux. This makes the micro SD card more than twice as expensive as the 512GB variant, which is 209 euros. The 400GB version is around 100 euros.
Western Digital announced the card in February, saying it would be on sale this spring. The SanDisk Extreme SD card has read speeds of up to 160MB/s and write speeds of up to 90MB/s, according to manufacturer Western Digital. It’s a UHS-1 card that achieves faster read speeds thanks to WD’s proprietary technology; UHS-1 goes up to 104MB/s by default.
