SanDisk Announces 10-Year Warranty SSDs in New Extreme Pro Line

SanDisk has announced three SSD models in the new Extreme Pro line. The solid state drives are available with storage capacities up to 960GB. Remarkably, SanDisk offers a 10-year warranty on the Extreme Pro models.

The three SanDisk Extreme Pro models have a SATA 600 interface and storage capacities of 240GB, 480GB and 960GB. The models offer sequential read speeds of 550MB/s each. The 240GB model offers a sequential write speed of 520MB/s, according to SanDisk, while the other two models achieve 515MB/s. All models are specified at 100,000 and 90,000 iops on random reads and writes, respectively.

According to SanDisk, its nCache technology, among other things, offers significant performance improvements during intensive read and write operations. Furthermore, the Extreme Pro SSDs are equipped with trim support and thermal throttling to protect SSDs against overheating. The SSDs with a consumption of 0.13W to 0.15W can also be called economical. SanDisk includes its SSD Dashboard software, which allows for real-time performance measurement and firmware updates.

SanDisk offers a remarkably long warranty on its new line of SSDs: the three SanDisk Extreme Pro models come with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. In the US, the 240GB model will cost $189, or Euro 139, and the 480GB model will cost $369, or Euro 271. The 960GB model should fetch $599, approximately 440 euros.
