Samyang comes with 85mm f/1.2 and 14mm f/2.4 in new Premium series

Samyang Optics announces a new series of manual lenses, which will include a 14mm f/2.4 and an 85mm f/1.2 at the end of this year. According to the South Korean manufacturer, the lenses from the Premium series are suitable for cameras with a very high resolution.

The new 14mm f/2.4 lens is made up of eighteen lens elements in fourteen groups. The optical design includes two aspherical elements and a hybrid aspherical lens. The bright ultra-wide angle is released in versions for cameras with a Nikon F, Canon EF and Sony E lens mount.

The 85mm f/1.2 lens appears only for Canon EF cameras. The bright portrait lens consists of ten elements in seven groups, including two aspherical elements. The filter diameter is 86mm and the lens is 98.4mm long. The minimum focusing distance is 80cm.

For the housing of the lenses, Samyang uses aluminum and flowing shapes. The diameter of the lenses is more than nine centimeters. The 14 mm f/2.4 and 85 mm f/1.2 should be on the market this year, but recommended prices are not yet known.
