Samyang 50mm f/1.4 for Sony A7 cameras gets suggested retail price of 630 euros
The first autofocus lens from the South Korean manufacturer Samyang will be released in August. It concerns the previously announced 50 mm f/1.4 for Sony system cameras. A 14mm f/2.8 with autofocus will also be available later.
At the introduction, the price of the bright 50 mm was not yet known. Now that the lens is almost in the shops, importer Transcontinenta will let you know the recommended price. The Samyang 50mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC has an optical construction of nine elements in eight groups. Three lens elements are aspherical, which should result in high image quality. The minimum focusing distance is 45cm and filters with a diameter of 67mm fit on the 585 gram lens.
The first autofocus lenses from Samyang are suitable for Sony’s compact system cameras. With the 50mm f/1.4 and 14mm f/2.8, the Korean manufacturer is mainly targeting owners of the Sony A7 cameras with a full-frame sensor. It is not yet known when the wide-angle lens will be available. Samyang has been making lenses for cameras from Canon, Nikon and Sony for several years now, but until now these did not have autofocus.
